<div itemprop="description">Brenda Mary Mitchell (nee Hunt) 91, Oshawa, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of her family on Saturday November 7. Born in Pontycymer, Wales Brenda now joins her mother and father, Harriet and Isacc Hunt, brother Evan Hunt, and sister Tegwyn Green, loving husbands Rene Martel and David Mitchell, son David Reid Mitchell, and grandson Michael Judd. Brenda will be greatly missed by her sister Joyce Lane and Kenneth Hunt. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carol Judd (Gary), Renee Cannon (Brian), Brenda Westlake (Dwight) and Donna Mitchell (Ivan), grandchildren Carol Anne Bell-Smith (Cliff), Brenda Hendricks (Roger) and Brian Kirkland (Edna) and by her great grandchildren Kathleen Waite, Victoria Pequegnat, Hayden Judd, Olivia Pequegnat, David Waite, Clive Judd and Mariah Pequegnat (Edward). <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Brenda Mitchell was a tireless advocate for women's rights and seniors and longstanding supporter of the Liberal Party. She served on many boards and committees and was the first woman to be elected to the Oshawa-Whitby Federal and Provincial Liberal Association and was also the first woman to hold the position of Official Agent for a Federal Liberal candidate. Brenda held various management positions in the Oshawa area until her retirement and was well known and respected in he community. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The family wishes to specially thank all of Brenda's caregivers, friends at Parkview Place and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, Lakeridge Health. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Arrangements entrusted to Mount Lawn Funeral Home 905-443-3376.
