<div itemprop="description">With her loving family by her side, Vera passed away peacefully at her home on Monday February 29, 2016 in her 89th year. Predeceased by her wonderful husband George (2010) of 69 years. Vera is survived by her loving sister Grace Ellis (Woolwich, England). Vera leaves behind her two sons, Richard (Karen) and Simon (Sharon) who both loved their mom very much. Vera will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Thomas (Kristy), Katie (Stephen), Jason (Jenny), Richard (Miranda) and Crystal (Justin); all of which thought the world of their Nan. Vera also leaves behind great-grandchildren Kimberly, Hunter, Alexandria, Dante, and Averi. <br />Vera had a wonderful life with many proud memories and accomplishments, including becoming a member of the Women's Land Army 1944 in England during WWII. Vera was also a proud and active member of the Spiritualist Community for many years. Vera truly loved and enjoyed her family, friends, laughter, and any creature great and small. Vera will now be able to join her husbnad, father, mother, and brothers George, Kenneth and Jack. <br /> <br />&quot;Off we go into the wild blue yonder, climbing high into the sun&quot; <br /> <br />A special Thank You to Cardinal Care, especially Claudia, Mercedes, and Maxine for all the love and care you showed Vera. <br />Visitation will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Rd Whitby, ON on Friday March 4 2016 from 6-8pm.
