HENRY Lloyd David -- Went to be with his Lord and Saviour peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, August 16, 2013 at age 68. Lloyd, beloved husband and best friend Janet Henry (nee Sharpe) of 43 years. Loving father of Rachel (Sargon Daniel) and Sarah (Shawn Mackie). Proud Papa Lloyd of Zaiah and Grace Daniel and Jaxon, Caleb and Hudson Mackie. Dear brother of Shirley, Paul (Lois), Ethel, Arthur (Rose), Betty (Ed), Barb, Jack (Cleo), June (Neil), Joyce (Doug), Helen (Glen) and Susan. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd Sr. and Adeline Henry (nee Casselman). Lloyd was noted for his fun loving personality and witty sense of humour and his generous nature meant he put other's first. His love of music, reading, dancing, travelling, talking on the phone, good conversation, time at the cottage, gardening, swimming, paddle boat rides with Janet and the grandchildren, driving his boat, and being the life of the party, but most of all he loved his family. A great friend and mentor who taught us the value of forgiveness, never burning bridges, hard work combined with integrity. He made us see that people can only do the best they can with who they are and what they have to work with. Born July 27, 1945 in Altsville, Ontario, at age 17 moved to Oshawa. He was the owner and operator of a successful vending company until 2012. He will be remembered for being a strong leader and his love of people, always full of wise sayings and scriptures to help strengthen and encourage people. A special thanks to the nurses and staff at St. Michael's Hospital, his caregivers, Sue, Tanya and Lashawn, all his family and friends for their care and support and especially his brother Jack, and best friend and soulmate Janet, for never leaving his side. Family and friends will be received at Trinity Pentecostal Church, 900 King Street East (East of Harmony Road) on Monday, August 19, 2013 from 7-9 pm and Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 1:30 pm until the time of Service in the church at 2:30 pm. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hearth Place would be appreciated. Heaven has become a richer place and we are poorer for the loss.
