In loving memory of Joyce Marie Doner (nee Westlake), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and dear friend, who unexpectedly passed away on Monday, February 8th, 2016. Joyce was born on September 13, 1952, in Oshawa, Ontario. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Dennis, and her children, Jeffrey and Julie, her daughter-in-law, Krista, her grandson, Charlie, her parents, Jack and Thelma Westlake, her siblings, David and Larry Westlake, extended family, and her friends and co-workers. Joyce touched so many lives with her kindness, compassion, and giving spirit. She took such pride and joy in being a mother to her children. In the mid-1990s, Joyce decided to go back to school and earned an honours diploma in Employment Counselling at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. She worked diligently in that field for many years, serving clients and helping countless individuals earn employment in their desired vocations. Joyce made the world a better, more beautiful place. She was brave, having undergone many health issues over the course of her life, and her strength never faltered. We will forever be blessed by the love she brought to our lives. Family and friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) 905-443-3376 on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1 pm until the time of the Memorial in the chapel at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to SickKids Foundation. Memories may be shared at www.mountlawn.ca
