Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at the age of 90. Loving wife to James (predeceased) for 50 years. Caring mother of Gayle Willoughby (Mike), John Rutledge and Allan Rutledge (predeceased). Proud grandma of Nicole Snowden (Scott), Shari Piper (Jim), Joshua Rutledge, Codey Rutledge and great grandma of Brycen and Jordan Snowden, Alex and Jesse Piper and Laela Rutledge.
Jean was very loving and caring person with a feisty personality. She enjoyed stamp collecting, was an avid photographer and lived for her gardens and her family, a gift she’s passed on to her children and grandkids. Jean’s spirit will live on in each of the lives she touched and will be forever in our hearts.
At Jean’s request, a private Funeral Service will be held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, Whitby, 905-443-3376, on Tuesday July 5, 2016 and she will be laid to rest at Erskine Cemetery, Pickering. Memorial donations can be made to Canadian Mental Health Association - Durham Region. Memories and condolences can be shared online at mountlawn.ca.
