<div itemprop="description">George (Sjoerd) Hoekstra on Sunday, August 7, 2016 in the early morning with his wife of 62 years Edith (Ytje) Hoekstra (Kloosterman) by his side. Son of the late Minke Hoekstra- Stoker and Reitze Hoekstra of Katlijk, the Netherlands. Much loved father of Richard, Edith, Harold (Brenda), Marilyn (Rachid) and Jessica (deceased). Proud Pake and Grandpa to 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Survived by brothers Edward and Jon; predeceased by brother Hans and sisters Ytje and Jantje. Lovingly remembered by a large extended family. Friends will be received at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) 902-443-3376 on Thursday, August 11, 2016 from 10 am until the time of the Celebration of Life in the chapel at 11 am.
