<div itemprop="description">LAYNG Ernest (WWII Veteran, member of the Hayden Shore Fiddle Club, Oshawa Fiddle Club, Port Perry Fiddle Club and Oshawa Country Club), Peacefully with his family by his side after a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, October 12, 2015 in his 90th year. Ernie, beloved husband of Doreen 'Tibby&quot; Layng for 65 years. Loving father of the late Susan Anderson (Eric Anderson) and Gail Layng. Proud grandpa of Laura Levett (Brian Lowe), Klayton Layng (Lori Lynn) and great grandpa of Keelan and Leah. Dear brother of Merelda Johnson (the late Roy), Hazel Newell (the late Bill) and the late Elmer (the late Doris and the late Ella), Don (the lateThelma and Margaret) and Hilda Cheeseman (the late George). Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Gertrude Layng. Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family, friends and his four legged companion. A special thanks to the staff in the Dialysis Unit (D Pod) and the nurses and staff on 6C at Lakerdige Health Oshawa, the Personal Support Workers at St. Elizabeth with a special thank you to Maria for their care and compassion. Also, a special thanks to the staff at Taxi Taxi and their drivers who would take Ernie to his dialysis appointments and assisting with wheelchairs and taking him into the hospital to ensure his safe arrival. Family and friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME &amp; CEMETERY, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) 905-443-3376 on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 1:30 pm until the time of Service in the chapel at 2:30 pm. Interment Mount Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers in memory of Ernie, donations to the Lakeridge Health Oshawa Dialysis Unit (D Pod) would be appreciated.
