FLAHERTY, Douglas Joseph
Peacefully in the comfort of his family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the age of 63. Will be forever missed by his loving wife Sandy Scott and children Brant (Brianna) and Erin. Predeceased by his parents Clifford and Dorothy and sister Patty Rogers. Loved brother of Maureen Scapinello (Raymond) and Clifford (Avi). Will be missed by brother-in-law Doug Rogers and family. Doug lived with courage and dignity following the diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor in June 2008. His strength of spirit and love for his family defied the odds of his prognosis. Many thanks to the team at the Gerry and Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital and the Doctors and caring nurses of the Supportive Care Unit at Lakeridge, Oshawa. Visiting time with family starting at 1:00 pm with Memorial Service at 3:00 pm at Mount Lawn Reception Centre, , on Tuesday, June 11, 2013. In memory of Doug, donations can be made to the Gerry and Nancy Pencer Brain Tumor Centre www.pencerbraintrust.com or Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre.
